Name: Elzbieta J.
Job: Discussion Director
Title: The absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian
Pages Read: 197/230

Questions:
1. What do you think about Junior's and Penelope's relationship?
Kresten:  No opinion, its very stereotypical. In real life, Penelope would ditch him when he said that his poor.
Luka: I think its nice she really likes him and that she cares for him
Rodion: I think it so cute, because Penelope is any racist unlike her father.
Elzbieta: I think their relationship represents what all relationship's are at their age, Penelope has a protective father, Junior is worried about whether he is able to offered the dance. They kiss, dance, and hang out. I dont think Penelope likes him the way Junior does, but I think as she enjoys being popular, she might just be using him. He is the out stand of the school, the one that doesn't belong, so what better way than to build a reputation than dating the guy? I found it fascinating how Junior could like a girl like Penelope (knowing that she is anorexic), and yet he is still madly in love with her.
2. So, far who is your favorite character and why?
Kresten: For me its definitely the coach, because he is portray in the most unrealistic fashion possible which in this case i find funny,
Luka: I cant say, its normally the main character. I like Junior, because he is the main character and we learn most about him
Rodion: Junior, because he had a relay confusing life and its very entertaining.
Elzbieta: My favorite character is Rowdy, because he doesn't care what others think of him. he does get mad and is violent, but that just all adds up to his intellect. I also like him as a character, because of how protective he was of Arnold at the beginning of the story.
3. How would you have reacted if your grandmother had died, and so many people would gather? Also, comment on how they laughed during the burial.
Kresten: I have mixed feelings for this because it depends which grandmother. One of my grandmother sis suffering as she approached the seventh state of dementia. This means that her life will be reduced to sitting in a chair and doing nothing. If she were to die, it might actually be good for her. However, I have another gramd mother who is very joyous and full of life in which case ot would be a shame for her to die.  AS for how they laughed in the funeral, i find it appropriate since I think that its what the grandmother had wanted.
Luka: That as quite mean in my opinion, still Im not sure how I would feel.
Rodion: It was so mean, I wanted to punch them.
Elzbieta: I think I would of drenched my sorrows in alcohol, following Arnold's fathers example. I think the laughing part of the ceremony just added up to the knowledge that we gain about the Indian society. I think that the way they let go of a person is very interesting.
4. How do you think the book might end, has anything been foreshadowed, if so what and how does it affect the book?
Kresten:I have no idea how the book will end, I feel as if theyr putting a basketball game into this while at the same time it doesn't seem like the book is oriented around basketball. One thing that I presume will happen is that Junior and Rowfdy will become friends.
Luka: I feel like this is one of the books in which you cant predict the ending. I honestly have no idea.
Rodion: I think it will ed with everybody dissing Junior because his poor and like later on in the book he might f]do something bad.
Elzbieta: I don't think they r has been any foreshadowing. I think the book might end with him accomplishing the year successfully, possibly breaking up with Penelope, and becoming friends with Rowdy once again.
5. What was your favorite part in the book?
Kresten: My fav part is during the dance. Its funny how Junior shows up in a disco suit and its entertaining.
Luka: Th scene when Junior and Penelope are trying to get to know each other, later on in the book
Rodion: My funniest part when they were at the panckae plae and the guy hands Junior 40 bucks.
Elzbieta: For me the funniest part in the book is when Gordy and Arnold are in the library and Gordy asks Arnold whether books give him a boner. And Arnold completely misunderstands the concept.
